You have reached the voicemail of Cecil Gershwin Palmer. That might seem like an easy thing to do, but think about how long you had to stay alive just to learn how a phone works and who I am. Congratulate yourself on that. Give yourself a vigorous pat on the back, and…don’t forget to leave a message after the heavily distorted sample of a man saying “I just couldn’t eat another bite." |

"Voicemail" is the 65th episode of Welcome to Night Vale, released on April 1st, 2015.
Synopsis
- You have reached the voicemail of Cecil Gershwin Palmer.
Plot Development
- Carlos / Do Not Approach the Dog Park / The Other Empty Desert: Carlos and the masked army in the desert otherworld come across a group of people who have been wandering aimlessly in the desert for exactly two years. When he discovers that they were the citizens of Night Vale who were trapped in the dog park during Poetry Week, Carlos realizes that the desert otherworld is the dog park.
- Lot 37: Mayor Dana Cardinal leaves a message saying that she didn't purchase the lot.
- Kevin: Kevin from Desert Bluffs is revealed to be alive by leaving a message on Cecil's phone. In the message, he says that he's been working on something that he wants to show Cecil and that Cecil will "be just jazzed about it."
- Fey: Fey somehow manages to get to Cecil's voicemail, and sings a bit of "Roar," revealing that--though once again trapped reading the numbers--she may be regaining sentience.
- Mayoral Coup: Hiram McDaniels, posing as Frank Chen, leaves a message asking if Cecil has heard about any plans being instigated by the Faceless Old Woman.
