Siobhan Azdak is the theater writer for the Night Vale Daily Journal, praised by Cecil for her "nuanced understanding of contemporary stagecraft" and her "acerbic... critical voice".

She has recently been assigned to judge the Trial of the Century despite not having any judging experience.

Mentions[]

  • Episode 78 "Cooking Stuff: Thanksgiving Special": Siobhan is announced as judge of the Trial of the Century.
  • Episode 80 "A New Sheriff in Town": Due to the difficulty in finding five-headed dragons to serve on the jury, Siobhan has hired programmers to develop dragon AIs.
  • Episode 82 "Skating Rink": She attends the opening of the new skating rink.
  • Episode 87 "The Trial of Hiram McDaniels": She is the judge for the Trial of Hiram McDaniels, but while bringing Dana Cardinal to the stand, she prompts Dana to "give the whole truth". Azdak stays but wears noise-cancelling headphones. When the jury and bailiff all transformed into unmoving strangers, she opposed this change but did not question it out of fear. At the conclusion of the trial she declared four out of five of Hiram's heads guilty and sentenced them to death.
  • Episode 106 "Filings": Four years ago, Azdak and Emilio Tavarez had some form of relationship.
  • Episode 138 "Harvest Time": As part of the widespread losses, she lost of a close acquaintance "after inadvertently hurting their feelings online, but noted maybe it’s better this way, if they’re going to be such a crybaby about little things like all caps curse-filled insults".

Trivia[]

Siobhan's surname may be a reference to the Bertolt Brecht play The Caucasian Chalk Circle, which also has a judge named Azdak.
