Night Vale Stadium is an enormous, large useless stadium in Night Vale, capable of seating 50,000 spectators. The stadium was conceived by the Night Vale Business Association, and constructed next to one of their pet projects, the Night Vale Harbor and Waterfront Recreation Area. At the time of its announcement, the stadium was planned to be closed for 364 days of the year, only opening every November 10th for the annual Parade of the Mysterious Hooded Figures.[1] The stadium can also be rented for private functions.[2]

Parade of the Mysterious Hooded Figures

Every November 10, all of Night Vale's favorite Hooded Figures parade proudly through Night Vale Stadium for all to witness, from the one that lurks under the slide at the Night Vale Elementary School playground, to the ones that meet regularly at the Dog Park, to the one that will occasionally steal babies (and for a reason that no one can understand, everybody stands by and lets him do it). It is not known where the Parade of the Mysterious Hooded Figures was held before the construction of Night Vale Stadium in 2012, or even if the event was held at all before the stadium's construction.[1]

Private rentals

Although Night Vale Stadium is closed for most of the year, it is apparently available for rental for private functions. In 2012, Night Vale Daily Journal editor Leann Hart threw herself an incredibly opulent birthday party in the stadium, featuring a lazy river made entirely of champagne and a birthday cake topped with very thin slices of moon rock.[2]

Trivia

  • Local sporting events have never been hosted in Night Vale Stadium. They are instead hosted in the presumably more modest Memorial Stadium, located at Night Vale High School.[3]
