The Last Bank of Night Vale is a local bank.
History[]
Early history[]
According to the bank's own slogan, it has existed since "the beginning" and will be there "until the end".[1]
Robbery[]
One one occasion, the bank was attacked by robbers. Security guard Jessie McNeil, bank teller Genevieve Daily, staff supervisor Susan Willman, and a customer Joel Eisenberg were taken hostage, and Sheriff's Secret Police tried to negotiate with the robbers. When the negotiations broke down, the Police decided to use force, which led to some shot being apparently fired and the bank being set on fire. In the confusion, the hostages were able to escape and the robbers were arrested, however when the bank vault was opened, it turned out to be completely empty.[2] The robbers were eventually able to escape police custody and soo the bank's VP Steve Carlsberg was arrested as the only person who knew the combination to the vault.[3] This is soon followed byCarlos being arrested as an accomplice. Eventually it was revealed that the real culprit was Jessie, who asked his accomplices to pretend to rob a bank in order to create a diversion, while he emptied the vault using intangibility gel he stole from Carlos.[4]
Involvement in the community[]
In addition to its financial services, the bank is also involved in the life of the Night Vale community, organizing events such as Ennui Fair[5], Pizza Night, Karaoke Night, Art Gallery Night, Annual Kids Fundraising dinner[6], and Fall Fair[7].
