Harrison Kip is an adjunct professor of archaeology at Night Vale Community College.
Mr.[1] Kip is well known in Night Vale for his fringe beliefs: he once produced a three-part program on Night Vale Community Television claiming that pyramids and other ancient structures were the work of human beings, not aliens.[2]
Despite his laughable scholarship, Mr. Kip does do field work. In an expedition that--unbeknownst to him--was funded by Hiram McDaniels and the Faceless Old Woman as part of their attempted mayoral coup, he found a talisman out in the desert[3] and accidentally used it to raise a sand golem.[4]
The shame of the golem incident drove Mr. Kip to live alone in the desert, where he taught classes and held office hours via Skype,[5] but he later returned to Night Vale and now lives in a Victorian mansion. His Christmas installation - which included a 40-foot tall Santa, an army of toiling elves, an old Victrola playing "Ave Maria", and clowns handing guests red and green balloons shaped like long-dead family members - was very popular during the 2018 edition of the Tour of Lights.[6]
During one of his expeditions, he found buried spaceships, most probably belonging to the Polonians. Eager to share this discovery, he informed Cecil about it, but was reprogrammed before he could provide him with any useful information.[7]
