Basimah Bashara is a young Night Vale woman. She was a junior at Night Vale High School during the 2015-2016 school year.
Basimah's father Fakhir Bishara volunteered to fight in the Blood Space War and left home when she was only six. She receives a letter from him every year, but can't write back, so he doesn't know anything about the person she is actually growing up to be. Basimah resents this fact.
Basimah later decided to leave Night Vale and move to California for college. [1]
The Bisharas are implied to be Muslim, and Basimah is stated to wear a hijab sometimes. She also has a girlfriend.
